Taste of Sydney is back for 2015 and is expecting to see thousands of Sydneysiders make their way to the event today and over the weekend to meet with producers and chefs, and taste Sydney’s best and award-winning food and drink produce.

Last night was the official launch night of the event, with attending guests among the first to try a plethora of food and drink cuisines. Among the best restaurateurs at this year’s festival are Ananas Bar & Brasserie, Bang Street Food, Biota Dining, Jonah’s, Movida, Otto, Popolo, Porteño, and Saké Restaurant and Bar.

While on hand to offer refreshments at the festival are wine and Champagne brands: Champagne Bruno Paillard, Howard Park Wines, House of Arras, Stella Bella Wines, Torbreck Vinters, Villa Maria Estate, Wirra Wirra Wines and Yealands Wine Group, as well as spirit brands Bundaberg Rum, Cascade Beverages, Experimental Spirits Co., Heaven’s Hell Vodka and LongLeaf Tea Vodka, or if beer or cider is more up your alley, just head to Rekorderlig Cider and Zeven Lemon Beerworks.

Visitors can also pop into one of the pop-up bars and taverns dotted around the festival. At Sammy’s Travelling Roadhouse, set-up by the team behind Shady Pines Saloon, The Baxter Inn and Frankies Pizza, punters are transported off the festival field and into a honky tonk music tent, where the team are serving hooch and freshly squeezed juice, as well as live music.

Over the next few days, attendees can also book themselves onto one of the many master classes that are being held around the festival, where visitors can try their hand at putting together a dish with either 2014 My Kitchen Rule contestant and Best Restaurant’s editor Anna Lisle or with the Lurpak Cookery School. Or at the Wine Society marquee, consumers can learn from The Wine Society’s own resident expert with sessions including Wine Pouring, Wine Tasting and Food and Wine Matching. Taste of Sydney is on until Sunday 15 March. Head to www.tasteofsydney.com.au to book tickets.
