As the popularity of grenache grows in Australia, Taylors Wines has crafted Jaraman Grenache 2018 to join the family’s Jaraman collection.

The wine brings together the ripe juicy fruit characters of McLaren Vale with the richly textured backbone of Barossa Valley.

“There’s no denying the resurgence of grenache in Australia," winemaker Mitchell Taylor said.

"It’s exciting to see how this classic variety has evolved and the growing number of producers putting their unique styles forward.”

The total grenache category is worth $11 million in Australia alone, and has the second largest value percentage growth of all varieties, red and white, at 28% (with tempranillo the first at 32%).

With its traditionally light to medium body, grenache is well suited to the growing trend for lighter, more sessionable and refreshing wine styles.

“Our own approach with the new release is to highlight these two distinct grenache growing regions in one complete wine," Taylor said. "It is beautifully delicate and graceful, while still maintaining the powerful elegance we aim to achieve with all of our wines at Taylors.

"It is a fantastic addition to the much celebrated Jaraman range."

The Jaraman collection, first released in 2003, aims to celebrate Australia’s diverse wine regions. Each wine in the Jaraman collection evolves depending on the specific region’s individual vintage conditions.

The Jaraman range is highly awarded from both international and Australian wine shows. More recently, the Jaraman Chardonnay 2018 was named Best of Show Australian White at the Mundus Vini Grand International Wine Awards announced in February.

Jaraman Grenache is available at most good wine retailers, Taylors Clare Valley cellar door and online at www.taylorswines.com.au.
