Industry veterans Peter Hollands (formerly of The Gresham, Bacardi National Brand Ambassador), Nick Winter (formerly of Bianca Restaurant, The Gresham, Mjolner Melbourne) and David Robinson (Hot Tamale, Snapper Rocks & Darwin's Hanky Panky Lounge) are opening Frog's Hollow which they say promises to bring the fun back to whisky bars at what they say is Brisbane's first, true, saloon style venue.
“Brisbane, after a couple Covid years is looking for somewhere easy to gather with friends. Along with building a beautiful venue we wanted a space that was easy just to come on in, walk up to the bar and get a drink. We’ve got one of the strongest teams I’ve ever worked with, and we believe our offering is going to be unique to the Brisbane bar scene,” says MrHollands.
“I’m a huge believer in hiring based on personality & passion. We got extremely lucky that our team is also incredibly talented. Talent & personality make for an amazing service, and we can’t wait to share that with Brisbane!” says Mr Winter
Frog’s Hollow is situated in what was Brisbane’s first red-light district by the same name and opens next Thursday.
Located within the John Reid & Nephews building at 26 Charlotte Street, the heritage façade shows off the beautiful brick work and double sash windows of early Brisbane. Inside, the 50-year-old floorboards and exposed ceiling represent the passing of time.
Mr Robinson said, "Brisbane is a city I have spent a fair bit of time in over the last six years and to be involved in opening a Frog's with Peter and Nick, two guys I really respect - their passion, skills and understanding of the industry, I couldn’t be more excited. The space is beautiful and exactly what we were looking for."
Frog’s Hollow Saloon, 26 Chralotte St, Brisbane is open 7 days a week from 3.00pm to 1.00am.
