The announcement has come in the wake of an unparalleled year of growth for the brand, with similar newly introduced (but limited-availability) expressions thought to be an underpinning of the success.
Anne Martin, Marketing Director for Pernod Ricard Australia states that the release will enable The Glenlivet to meet an increased demand for super-premium spirits while simultaneously offering something unique to the market.
The Glenlivet currently has the largest share of the Australian Single Malt Market at 26 per cent according to Aztec Australia National Weighted [Vol. FYTD to 24/05/15].
“Founder’s Reserve brings to life the heart and soul of The Glenlivet. We are very proud to introduce this new expression during what has been an incredible twelve months for the brand”, continues Martin.
The liquid is created to honour founder George Smith and is produced with the addition of first fill American oak casks, imparting a distinct creaminess and sweetness to the final product.
Founder’s Reserve also has delicate aromas of citrus notes, notably sweet orange, while sweet, fruit notes of orange and pears, and a hint of toffee apples display on the palate.
The introduction of Founder’s Reserve follows on from the recent specialty release of The Glenlivet Winchester Collection, launched into the Australian market last October.
