Vodka lovers rejoice! There's now an official group dedicated to strengthening and supporting the vodka industry: The Global Vodka Alliance.
The Global Vodka Alliance (GVA), a new service to bring together producers, bartenders, retailers, experts and journalists from all over the world who share a common passion for vodka, has officially launched the GVA website.
With a focus on integrity, innovation and education in vodka, GVA’s mission is to give consumers a better understanding of the depth and complexity available in Vodka, the ways vodka is produced, and encourage them to try different brands and styles of vodka in new ways.
Ben Lindsay, co-founder of the Global Vodka Alliance said: “I’ve spent the past year working with and meeting some fantastic people, from the American Craft Distilling Institute, brand owners and distillers of global brands and industry experts, all of which have contributed in their own way.
“It’s an exciting time for vodka, and we’re confident after working closely with brands that the education and excitement around vodka can continue to grow internationally,” he says.
“The home of the GVA is our website, which has engaging consumer education, an exhaustive vodka directory and regular news and event updates. [It also has] a members area, where brands can expand their profiles, champion their brand ambassadors and connect with bartenders from anywhere in the world,” Lindsay adds.
The GVA vodka directory outlines vodka base ingredients, country of origin and clear description of various global vodkas, with the aim to enhance clarity about the category whilst also opening up global avenues for brands.
Moreover, the dedicated trade section of the website, which was development in partnership with Red Snapper, will offer insight on trends, market research and insider knowledge from entering new export markets to bartender training.
The company's official launch on Wednesday 22nd of December, will be officiated with two ‘Vodka Summits’ in 2018 following on and building from a successful 2017 inaugural event. The first summit is confirmed to be held in the United States, a market that currently has more than 200 vodkas competing for position and a growing craft market.
