The approaching Sydney Spirits Festival undoubtedly already has a few mouths watering and Glencairns humming with its promise to be the largest gathering of its kind on Aussie shores.
A grand total of 148 brands will be showcased in each 3-hour session, spanning categories as broad as whisk(e)y, gin, soju, schnapps, rum, agave, vodka, vermouth, grappa, tequila, liqueurs, fortified wines, and more.
Organised by Judith Kennedy–the woman behind the now nation-wide Gin Festivals–the new event promises to provide attendees with a truly unparalleled journey through both flavour and craftmanship. The lineup will carefully balance quintessential examples of mainstream styles with the more unique and enigmatic categories… think along the lines of Greek vermouth, Brazilian cachaça, and American peanut butter whisky!
Various industry personalities will also be making appearances, including Australia’s ‘Godfather of Whisky’ Bill Lark, Buffalo Trace brand ambassador and bourbon expert Gee David, Hickson House’s Mikey Enright, and plenty more. Beyond interacting with attendees on the floor, the hefty list of experts will also be conducting exclusive masterclasses to shine light on their craft.
The Sydney Spirits Festival will take place at the Overseas Passenger Cruise Terminal in Sydney Cove, offering up harbour views and a variety of culinary options. All spirit samples are included in the $80 ticket price, with the exclusive masterclasses on Bourbon, Whisky, Gin, Rum, Vermouth, and/or Negroni available for an additional $40 a piece.
