This Perth bar sells tequila shots at the low cost of $145. Let’s hope they’re worth it…

Perth’s hottest underground Mexican bar, Caballitos is the latest CBD creation from entrepreneur Andy Freeman, the man behind popular venues including Flour Factory and Varnish on King.

Freedman is proud of the bar’s success so far, despite the economic slump in Perth. 

He said Caballitos, on Queen Street, was the only tequila bar in the city. It caters to a variety of budgets, with nothing on the food menu costing more than $15. The drinks menu on the other hand ...

Jamie Passmore, venue manager at Caballitos told The West Australian that the bar offers a variety of tequila for everyone.

“We have 200 odd different tequilas and mescals; most of them are hung around the bar...so that if people are interested in something [or] they’ve heard of something, we can give them a taste in a pretty fun atmosphere", says Passmore.

“The most expensive and rare and hard to find one we have is the [Gran Patron]. It comes it its own leather bound case.

“It’s cool that we’ve got something pretty exclusive."

For those who feel like splurging, a 30ml serving of the rare ultra-premium Gran Patron comes at a price of $145.
