Diageo-owned Dufftown Distillery has launched The Singleton 12 Year Old into the Australian market, featuring a modern and vibrant teal refresh.
Targeted toward a new generation of whisky drinkers, the single malt’s accessible taste profile suits those starting out on their whisky journey.
It's launching in Australia with a simple new serve, the ‘Plus Two’, which gives consumers an easy way to enjoy the liquid at home, by combining equal 50ml parts of The Singleton 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, with 50ml sparkling liquid and 50ml still liquid, to make an easy at-home cocktail.
The whisky also leads with simplified tasting notes to demystify the complicated language so often associated with the category. Its expressions now feature taste statements like ‘luscious nectar’, ‘sublimely smooth’ and ‘fruity decadence’ in place of traditional tasting notes.
Melissa Maidment, Marketing Manager for whisky at Diageo Australia, said: “Shaking off the ‘old world’ image of leather armchairs, The Singleton 12 Year Old is setting out to redefine the single malt category.
“We talk about The Singleton as a ‘CAN’ whisky, meaning the consumer CAN have it any way they like it. There is no rulebook, and the Plus Two serve creates an easy way for those new to the category to experiment at home.”
Alongside the new serve, brand has also had a complete overhaul of its look and feel, featuring an teal design, aiming to capture the attention of the modern whisky consumer.
