The Taphouse in Darlinghurst is dishing up free meals and booze for all hospitality workers impacted by the latest Sydney lockdown.
For those struggling in the hospitality sector, all you need to do to get your hands on a free meal and a heart-warming shot of bourbon is head to The Taphouse and request one of their ‘hospo meals’. The meal includes a house crumbed chicken schnitzel with gravy, chips, seeded salad, or a vegetarian pasta puttanesca with onion, garlic, little chilli, sun dried tomato, olives, capers and parmesan. The offer will be up for grabs throughout the duration of the lockdown and there’s a maximum of one meal plus one shot, per person, per day.
The Taphouse has also increased its capacity for delivery to support its own staff by extending its capacity for food and drink delivery service. For all orders in a 1km radius of The Taphouse in Darlinghurst, Taphouse bartenders and staff will deliver to homes with no minimum spend. This includes alcohol delivered to your door, $6 shots of Jameson or Jack Daniels to add on to your order, and on Sundays sit down to their award-winning roast at home for just $25.
“We know what a hard time it is for our community and hospo workers are especially vulnerable right now. As we enter this two week lockdown and period of uncertainty for the foreseeable future, we wanted to give back to our local community, and recognise how invaluable hospo workers are to our industry. This is our little part, and our way of acknowledging that the only way we will get through these difficult times is together,” says Joshua Thorpe, Owner of The Taphouse.
To combat the lockdown blues, there are also epic discounts on offer. So you don’t go thirsty, enjoy 25% off their entire bottle shop for all pickup orders. With over 200 lines of craft beers and wine from local breweries, beer and wine aficionados are spoilt for choice. If you have your own growler, bring it to The Taphouse for a refill.
