Set to showcase the best wine Western Australia has to offer, the Wine Show of Western Australia will once again descend on Albany in October after celebrating a milestone 45 years last year.
John Gates, Chair of the Wine Show of WA, said the show would celebrate the great diversity of wine offered by Western Australian producers, culminating in a formal Trophy Presentation Dinner.
“The aim of the Wine Show is to celebrate the quality and diversity of wines from throughout the State. That means we need to constantly improve to keep up with the quality of the wines we are judging.
“We are pleased to keep the show based in Mount Barker, the birthplace of the West Australian wine industry, but in a major change trialled last year, a formal Trophy Presentation Dinner will be held at Retravision Stadium in Albany with Silas from Pepper & Salt catering,” said Gates.
As in previous years, the show will take place at Sounness Park, Mt Barker, where the light and temperature in Spring suit both the wines on offer and the judges, although this year, the festivities will benefit from upgraded equipment to enhance the judging processes.
Judging will happen from the October 10 - 12 and the Trophy Presentation Dinner on the evening of October 13.
