The nation’s best bottle shop has been crowned at the 2019 Australian Hotels Association National Awards for Excellence.

Nearly 500 VIP and industry guests from across Australia were at The Star on the Gold Coast this week for the gala ceremony.

And the Best Retail Liquor Outlet trophy went to Beach House Hotel, in Hervey Bay, Queensland.

The hotel noted: "A great night had by all at the Australian Hotels Association Awards. A huge thank you to our loyal customers and wonderful staff for supporting us to over the past five years."

Beach House Hotel also won Best Bar Presentation & Service – Regional at the Awards.

The pub underwent a major $6 million refurbishment in 2013 and also won Best Bar, Best Draught Beer and Best On Premise Liquor Outlet at the Queensland Hotels Association Awards for Excellence last year.

Its Bottle O liquor barn and drive thru bottle shop is open from 9am - 10pm daily and offers a huge range of wines, local and international beers and spirits.

The Bottle O's customer reviews echo the best bottle shop accolade, describe it as having a "massive selection and helpful staff", an "awesome atmosphere" and "best customer service ever!"

The view is pretty stunning too. Situated on the Esplanade in Scarness, Beach House Hotel overlooks the pristine waters of Hervey bay, Scarness Park and Pier.
