Coles Group is showing their support for Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday 3 March by donating $1 from every in-store and online sale to the charity organisation. The money raised will help fund the production and distribution of free Clean Up kits for community volunteers and schools. These Clean Up Kits include 100% recycled content rubbish bags, protective gloves and high-vis vests.
“We’re proud to once again be supporting Clean Up Australia by donating $1 from every sale on Sunday to this important charity,” said Michael Courtney, CEO at Coles Liquor Group.
2024 will be the fourth consecutive year that the Group has supported the initiative through its 'Love your Land' campaign. The past three events have already helped to raise over $405,000 for Clean Up Australia Day.
“The money raised in our 768 Liquorland stores and online will go towards providing Clean Up kits to volunteers cleaning up their local area and this year we’re on track to hit a major milestone of over half a million dollars raised since our partnership began back in 2021," said Courtney.
In addition to its Sunday fundraiser, Liquorland also raise money for the Clean Up Australia Day charity throughout the year via its ‘Drop of Good’ 375ml wine range, donating 50 cents for every bottle purchased.
The Liquorland-funded kits will be distributed nationwide to help volunteers pick up litter from community spaces such as beaches, parks, and bushland. According to Clean Up Australia's Chair, Liquorland’s contribution will have a significant impact on the success of this years event.
“The funds raised by Liquorland will go a long way in empowering thousands of Australians to take part in a Clean Up activity, whilst also raising valuable awareness across Liquorland's national network of stores about the need to help protect Australia's environment,” said Pip Kiernan, the charity's Chair.
“Liquorland's donations will allow us to provide free Clean Up kits to people wanting to take practical action in removing waste and protecting our planet.
“For those looking to do their bit, it’s not too late to join a registered Clean Up site and take part this Sunday.”
Clean Up Australia Day is one of the nation’s most recognised and trusted environmental organisations, and has played host to more than 20 million volunteers since its inception.
