Archie Rose Distilling Co. has made new appointments to its team in two newly created roles – Rachelle “Rocky” Hair joins the team as Creative Drinks Manager and Brand Ambassador, Nick Baxter, moves to the national role of Brand Advocacy Manager.
The Archie Rose team now numbers more than 50 full and part time staff, spanning five teams including Production, Operations, Hospitality and Events, Sales, and Marketing.
One of the hospitality industry’s most acclaimed international bartenders, Rocky has returned to Australia after spending the last three years living and working in Los Angeles, London and Lebanon.
With stints at Harvard and Stone, Gwen, Super Lyan and most recently Dandelyan, Rocky joins Archie Rose in the newly formed role of Drinks Creative Manager, bringing her eye for international trends to the drinks creative underpinning the 1000 plus events Archie Rose plans to roll out around the country this year.
The first woman to win Time Out’s Hot Talent Award in 2016, Rocky has been instrumental in breaking down gender divides behind the bar and has featured in several forums about drink consultation, sustainability and gender in the hospitality industry. She was also one of the members of the original Archie Rose Bar team ahead of moving overseas.
Having joined Archie Rose Distilling in 2016 working across VIC, WA and TAS Nick’s promotion to the new, role of Brand Advocacy Manager will see him move to Sydney to lead the local and international Brand Ambassador team. This will include a doubling of the team to include new recruits covering the VIC / TAS plus WA / SA markets alongside Lachie Beange in NSW / ACT and Phil Gandevia in QLD / NT ahead of international rollout next year.
Nick has spent more than 15 years in hospitality including nine years in the UK at some of Brighton’s best venues, followed by WA favourites Bar Lafayette, The Dominion League, Lalla Rookh and Long Chim before his move to Melbourne as Archie Rose Brand Ambassador.
“We’re pumped about these new appointments,” said Archie Rose Distilling founder Will Edwards.
“With whisky now launched as part of our core range of spirits we’re super stoked to have Rocky return following four years working for some of the world’s best venues and to have Nick now also move to Sydney to lead our brand ambassadors as we continue to roll out Australia’s most innovative spirits, drinks and spirits experiences.”
