Wandering the world to satisfy her wanderlust, Janna Lintunen, like most backpackers, has loved travelling around our beautiful country. The young Finis has attributed learning most of her bar skills and mixology from her work at various venues throughout Melbourne and the Northern Territory, to finally find herself unexpectedly planting roots in the quaint and quirky capital city of Darwin.

Janna has been living in Darwin for the last two years and has enjoyed working for CHOW! - a trendy Vietnamese restaurant in Darwin’s Waterfront Precinct. This year representing CHOW!, Janna entered the AHA (NT) Bartender of the Year as part of AHA (NT) Hospitality Awards. Up against 10 of the best mixologists in Darwin, Janna was honoured to be the only female representative in the competition. When her name was announced as the overall winner she felt a remarkable proudness in her ‘Girl Power’.

Representing CHOW! again, Janna has nominated herself for the Leukaemia Foundation’s U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year. Using her skills and talent she hopes to not only achieve her fundraising goal, but to bring awareness to what U.G.L.Y. stands for and the impact that the vital funds have on families that are affected with blood cancer.

With exciting ideas and the support of her team, Janna embraces the challenge and gives a cheeky smile when she teases about her new upcoming U.G.L.Y. Cocktail. Perhaps it will include Lingonberry, which is a prominent flavour from Finland. We can’t wait to taste what’s in store.
