Over 400 venues have nominated their U.G.L.Y. Bartender in the Leukaemia Foundation’s 2015 U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year campaign and are gearing up to show how creative they can be with their fundraising for this slightly ridiculous and mostly hilarious fundraiser.

Launching the race to be U.G.L.Y.-est in their state is Queensland, with their official kick-off date of 1 August 2015, wrapping up U.G.L.Y. on 14 September 2015.

All other states are currently seeking outrageous and charismatic bartenders to register over the coming months, with the campaign launching on 1 October 2015 until 16 November 2015.

The uptake of U.G.L.Y. Bartender of the Year in both metro and regional venues has already been inspirational, with registrants planning unique fundraisers that bring patrons into their venue whilst raising funds to support the Leukaemia Foundation’s accommodation service. This service is imperative for people with blood cancers who need to relocate to the city to receive treatment not available in their regional centres. The average stay is four months, a length of time that would be unaffordable for most people needing to undergo vital treatment.

To acknowledge the amazing efforts of these bartenders and their venues, the Leukaemia Foundation is offering great prizes to U.G.L.Y bartender for the first time, proudly supported by campaign partner Hoshizaki Lancer and Handpicked Wines.
