Can Cranbrook Hotel owners Steve and Jodie Woodcock take out the U.G.L.Y. trophy in WA for a second year in a row?
In 2014, Steve and Jodie raised an amazing $13,597 for U.G.L.Y. and took out first prize in WA. Since beginning their U.G.L.Y. journey in 2012, Steve and Jodie have raised over $21,000 with the support and generosity of the Cranbrook community.
Jodie said: "living in such a remote place [ourselves], it means a lot that we can raise money to help take the burden away from those with blood cancer".
There have been a number of fun U.G.L.Y. events at Cranbrook Hotel so far in October and November, including a quiz night with live music and a bouncy castle, plus a spooky Halloween party with ghoulish costumes. Cranbrook will be holding a “P” Party this Saturday 14 November from 7pm. All families are invited to join in the family fun fancy dress theme event with live music, a bucking bull and more!
U.G.L.Y. stands for ‘Understanding, Generous, Likeable, You’ and is the Leukaemia Foundation’s quirkiest fundraising campaign. It is a hospitality industry fundraiser and raises funds to provide a home-away-from-home for people with blood cancer who must relocate to the city to receive vital treatment.
Every $80 raised by an U.G.L.Y. Bartender provides one night of accommodation - a gift to help people when they need it most.
