Vinexpo Asia, the leading wine trade event for producers looking to import into the Asian market, is returning to Hong Kong next week from 28-30 May for the first time in six years.
More than 65 unique Australian exhibitors are registered to attend, with some exhibitors representing multiple brands.
Australia and China are both expected to be among the top five exhibiting countries, trailing France, Italy and Spain. In total, 40 separate countries and up to 1,300 producers are expected to showcase at the show.
Overall, more than 10,000 trade visitors from 60 countries will visit the Hong Kong trade show next week, including importers, wholesalers, distributors, wine merchants, retailers, hoteliers and restaurateurs. Next week’s event is expected to incite extensive discussions into China’s wine market following the recent removal of tariffs on Australian wine imports and the threats of imposing similar tariffs on wine imports from the EU. These latter threats have only come to light over the last couple of days.
The upcoming Hong Kong Vinexpo follows on from last year’s event held in Singapore.
“Building on Vinexpo Asia’s proven success in Singapore in 2023, Vinexposium continues to play a central part in the economic growth and vitality of the wine and spirits industry in Asia,” said Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of the Vinexposium group.
