The AHA WA will join the Western Australian Government's eight day mission to the UK and Ireland to spruik the thousands of jobs and career opportunities available in WA’s hotels and hospitality venues.

Kicking off on Saturday 25 February in London, the mission aims to build a pipeline of workers that will help fill almost 31,000 job vacancies across Western Australia across a number of industries, including hospitality, education, health, trade and mining.

The mission coincides with an advertising campaign across UK and Ireland and will be led by Police and Defence Industry Minister Paul Papalia.

AHA (WA) CEO Bradley Woods said WA’s strong economy, lower cost of living and unparalleled lifestyle made a compelling case for workers to travel down under.

“Put simply, there has never been a stronger case for British, Irish and Scottish workers to migrate to WA and take advantage of the thousands of jobs on offer in WA’s hospitality industry,” Mr Woods said.

“With an incredible standard of living, the proposition of moving to WA virtually sells itself, but the AHA will be on the ground to promote the benefits of working in our world-class hotels, pubs, bars, taverns and restaurants.”

The recently launched westernaustralia.jobs website, a dedicated tourism and hospitality jobs, training and careers workforce portal, is a one-stop shop for job seekers looking for opportunities in WA.

The site, developed in partnership with the Australian Hotels Association WA, has attracted more than 420 employers and 350 job seekers since its launch in May, connecting them with more than 500 jobs.

Employers looking to fill tourism and hospitality roles are strongly encouraged to load their jobs onto the free portal as soon as possible, to make the most of this broad-reaching campaign.

Both initiatives have been developed in collaboration with Tourism WA.
