Whisky LIVE lands in Sydney this weekend, bringing whisky enthusiasts together to sample a wide range of new and rare products and meet the producers behind them.
The event takes place each year and makes its way across the country, starting in Perth and moving to Sydney (5-6 May), Canberra (26-27 May), Melbourne (16-17 June), Hobart (24 June), Adelaide (4-5 August) and Brisbane (25-26 August). Whisky LIVE Perth concluded on the last weekend in March.
Special events at this year’s Whisky LIVE Sydney include the Lagavulin Distillery Tour, which will transport guests to the home of the Islay single malt through sight, smell and taste. The experience will last for 30 minutes and include samplings of the special Lagavulin range.
At the Rare and Old Bar, guests will also have the opportunity to try unique and hard to find whiskies including those from closed distilleries, special bottlings and extremely old and sold out expressions.
The event will be held at the InterContinental Sydney and the sessions will run on Friday 5 May - 6pm-9.30pm and Saturday 6 May - 1pm-4.30pm and 6pm-9.30pm.
A Standard Ticket costs $110 per person and includes entry to the event, samplings of all the whiskies on display, a copy of the Whisky Tasting Guide and a commemorative whisky glass to take home.
A VIP Ticket costs $250 and also includes a Whisky Appreciation Class, $20 shopping voucher, special dram at the Rare and Old Bar, four issue Whisky Magazine subscription and use of the special VIP room.

Distilled Beverages Reception at Parliament House - Wednesday 24 May, 6.30pm-8.30pm
Members of the Australian whisky and spirits industry are also invited to join Whisky LIVE at the 3rd Distilled Beverages Reception at Parliament House on Wednesday 24 May. Guest to the event will learn more about the upcoming Whisky and Spirits Conference Asia Pacific, hear from special guest speakers from the USA and be among the first to find out about the launch of the Distilled Beverage Institute, a new educational platform.
