Yesterday, Little Creatures and Liquor Barons unveiled the winning brew of its Create your Kegacy competition after first opening to entries in April. The winning beer, which is to be distributed state wide before the end of the month, is named Little Towns Crispy Lager, and was created by Head Brewer Russell Gosling in partnership with competition winner and Ravensthorpe local Stevie Smart.

“Collaborating with passionate beer lovers like Stevie is what makes our craft so special,” said Gosling.

“Little Towns Crispy Lager is a fantastic brew that reflects the spirit of WA’s close-knit communities, and we’re thrilled to see it come to life, and confident it’s going to be a crowd pleaser.”

Stevie Smart said his beer was inspired by the charm and camaraderie of Western Australia’s small towns and country pubs.

“My Little Towns Crispy Lager is an ode to the small, welcoming country towns in WA where people travel far and wide to catch up at the local pub. With a crisp, refreshing taste it's the perfect companion for hot summer days, a cold beer in hand and yarn with your mates is all you need, no matter the occasion.”

First opened to entries in April, the Create your Kegacy campaign saw Liquor Barons and Little Creatures offer all Liquor Baron the chance to submit their ideas for Little Creatures’ next limited edition brew. Following this, the winner - Stevie Smart - was invited to work with Little Creatures throughout all facets of the beer’s design process, making decisions regarding its flavours, name, packaging, and assisting with the brewing process.

Additionally, Smart also received a year’s supply of Little Creatures and tickets to the Fremantle Beer Fest 2024.

“We’re so proud of what this partnership has achieved, showcasing what happens when creativity and community come together,” said Eliza Schwab, Marketing Manager for Liquor Barons.

“We are eager to see Little Towns Crispy Lager hit the Liquor Barons shelves, bringing people together across WA.”

Little Creatures Little Towns Crispy Lager has an abv of 4.8% and will be available by the end of the month across all Western Australia Liquor Baron stores. It will also be available on tap at select venues statewide.
