Adelaide and South Australian wine regions will welcome delegates for the fourth WISA Wine Industry Impact Conference on 28-29 November 2023 – Day One at the Adelaide Oval, Day Two in the regions.
Presented by the Wine Industry Suppliers Association (WISA), the 2023 event theme is 'The Only Way is Up! Embrace Change, Adapt Quickly, and Elevate Your Business.'
WISA has brought together international and local experts to discuss and analyse critical topics to assist the success of all wine industry sectors in 2024 and beyond.
The keynote speaker is German-based 'Business of Drinks' co-founder and award-winning wine journalist Felicity Carter. Her address will examine global wine trends and reveal the 'silver linings' of profitability.
Rabobank's Pia Piggot, author of the hard-hitting report, 'Swimming in Wine', will address emerging export markets and how the industry can restructure to re-secure balance considering excessive stock levels.
Hamish Saxton will show how New Zealand's oldest wine-producing region, Hawke's Bay, is developing its wine tourism offerings.
WISA Executive Officer Cameron Hills says, "The conference is important for anyone with a stake in the wine industry: wineries, growers, and the host of businesses that form the wine industry's supply chain."
"It was important that we also present a series of breakout sessions focusing on the practicalities of responding to rapidly changing consumer preferences, market constraints, and technological advancements," Hills says.
WISA has also secured inspirational well-being speaker Rob Edwards OAM, who will address the human factor in building success in challenging circumstances.
Day Two of the conference is a 'Regional Road Trip' delivering behind-the-scenes insights from key industry influencers.
On Day One of the two-day event is The Wine Industry Impact Awards. The Gala Dinner presentation is on Tuesday, 28 November, at Adelaide Oval. The Awards acknowledges wine businesses providing positive solutions, innovations, and advancements across the supply chain.
Corrina Wright of Olivers Taranga of McLaren Vale will MC the event sponsored by Green Industries SA, Pernod Ricard Winemakers, Stanton and Stanton, Vintrace and Wine Australia.
