Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, visited the Laphroaig Distillery last week to celebrate its 200th anniversary.

Owned by Beam Suntory, Laphroaig is the only Single Malt Scotch Whisky to bear a Royal Warrant – a mark of recognition to those who supply goods or services to the Royal Households.

Prince Charles is the third Duke to have visited the distillery over the last 25 years and raised a glass of Laphroaig’s limited edition 15 Year Old Whisky in celebration of the brand’s milestone achievement.

The new release, which also marks the distillery’s 200th anniversary, is a re-release of the original expression from 30 years ago. The 15 Year Old Whisky has a mellow, rounded taste with briny orchard fruits adding bite and depth, while the overall feel is rich and smoky.

Laphroaig 15 Year Old retails for $180.
