Heineken Silver launched to Australia

Heineken has launched Heineken Silver to the Australian market. Touted as being the smoothest beer in Australia, the new release has a bitterness rating of only 5 IBUs, about a quarter of Heineken Original’s 19 IBUs. Heineken Silver is also 99% carb free, positioning it as well suited to the growing better-for-you trend.

Heineken’s Country Manager Dino Bozzone said its “remarkable smoothness makes Heineken Silver the perfect choice for those seeking a more refined beer experience without sacrificing the rich, refreshing taste Heineken is known for.”

To support the launch, Heineken will be investing $6.5 million into a comprehensive marketing campaign that will include a Youtube and BVOD TVC and extensive and varied sampling campaigns.

Heineken Silver is available now at all major retailers at an RRP of $56 per 24-pack.

Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash

Jack Daniel’s has released the second instalment of its Bonded Series, the Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash. As suggested by the name, Triple Mash is a blend of three straight bottled-in-bond whiskeys, including 60% Jack Daniel’s Bonded Rye Whiskey, 20% Jack Daniel’s Bonded Tennessee Whiskey, and 20% Jack Daniel’s Bonded American Malt Whiskey for an extra layer of intrigue.

Master Distiller Chris Fletcher said, “by drawing on our rich heritage, we’ve managed to create an extraordinary bottled-in-bond straight whiskey that only Jack Daniel’s could make.”

The most premium offering in the Bonded Series to date, Triple Mash is bottled at 50% abv in a bottle inspired by the original design of the 1895 Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey bottle. It follows on from the release of Jack Daniel’s Bonded mid last year.

As is stipulated by the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897, a bonded whiskey must be distilled by a single distiller, during a single distilling season, matured in a government-bonded warehouse for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof (50% abv).

Fletcher said, “each whiskey in our Bonded series provides an experience like no other, providing opportunities for both enthusiasts and new drinkers to explore what Jack Daniel’s has to offer. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store next.”

Jack Daniel’s Triple Mash is available now in selected Australian retail outlets at an RRP of $110. Broadscale availability is expected to follow in October.

The release has been aged for 14 years prior to bottling.

Ardbeg’s Director of Whisky Creation Bill Lumsden: “the outcome is a whisky bursting with notes of banana bread and tropical fruit, fused with Ardbeg’s hallmark flavours of camphor, lime zest and wood smoke. This 14-year-old whisky may appear sweet in nature, but its smoky side is not to be underestimated!”
