Oakridge Wines introduces Ovata, a quality Yarra Valley sparkling wine, to Australia’s expanding premium sparking sector.

Ovata by Oakridge is a non-vintage sparkling wine created by celebrated sparkling winemaker Teresa Heuzenroeder in collaboration with the Oakridge Wines team.

Merging the art and science of sparkling winemaking, Heuzenroeder’s unwavering commitment to every aspect of the process has driven this partnership with the award-winning Oakridge team in the Yarra Valley.

With over two decades of experience, Heuzenroeder is a passionate winemaker known for her attention to detail and passion for sparkling wines. She comes to Oakridge with experience collaborating on crafting world-class Australian sparkling wine brands Jansz and Croser.

"Our vision was to craft a vivacious and distinctive sparkling wine. The Yarra Valley is renowned for producing top-quality Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, with its cool climate providing an ideal setting for sparkling wines. In creating Ovata, we designated Chardonnay to lead the blend, resulting in a wine of finesse and elegance yet underpinned by an inherent approachability. We are elated to finally unveil this new release," said Huezenroeder.

Heuzenroeder and the Oakridge team chose premium selections of the Yarra Valley classic method traditional varietals, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, to craft Ovata.

Each bottle undergoes lees fermentation for an average of 18 months, resulting in a creamy sparkling wine infused with scents of apples, white flowers, and brioche. The lively freshness of the dominant Chardonnay note harmonizes with the depth and intensity of the reserve selections, exuding an extra layer of complexity.

The name "Ovata" derives from the Latin word "Ovatus," meaning to rejoice, applaud, and celebrate.

Ovata is exclusively available at Dan Murphy's and BWS, with a suggested retail price of $32 per bottle.
