Jane Thomson, founder of The Fabulous Ladies' Wine Society, has written a new book unashamedly about wine for women who love to drink it.

The Fabulous Ladies’ Guide to Wine provides a fun read for any woman who wants to learn a little more about her favourite beverage.

In keeping with Thomson’s well-known passion and advocacy for women in wine, the book also has a deliberate and strong focus on female wine producers. In particular, it features the behind the scenes stories and favourite food and wine matches of 16 of this country’s most fabulous women in wine – who also provide a secret family recipe from their vault, so you can make it at home and pair it with their chosen wine.

Those featured include:

Christie Schulz, Turkey Flat

Leanne De Bortoli, De Bortoli Wines

Katherine & Caroline Brown, Brown Brothers

Judy Kelly, ArtWine

Corrina Wright, Oliver’s Taranga Vineyard

Helen O’Brien, Kangarilla Road

Emma Raidis, Raidis Estate

Clare Halloran, Tarra Warra

Trina Smith, Jacob’s Creek

Sarah Collingwood, Four Winds Vineyard

Emma Norbiato, Calabria Family Wines

Lyndsay Sharp, Jack Rabbit Vineyard

Katrina Pizzini, Pizzini Wines

Leanne Rogers, The Lake House Denmark

Wendy Killeen, Stanton & Killeen

“Celebrating Australia’s women in wine and sharing the joys of wine with women who love to drink it are my two great passions,” said Thomson. “To bring them together in a book for the first time is an absolute dream come true.”

The book is an eclectic mix of stories, information, articles, interviews and beautiful illustrations, with the content divided into four main sections: Drinking It, Matching It, Visiting It and Making It. The ‘Visiting It’ section includes a guide to some of Australia’s best wine regions and recommendations for the most fabulous (female led) cellar doors and wineries to visit.

The book’s RRP is $39.95 and it is currently sold online via  The Fabulous Ladies’ Wine Society and via selected cellar doors around Australia, with further distribution to follow.
