Hirsch Hill, a family-owned winery based in the Yarra Valley, has landed a major supply partnership with Qantas Airlines. As part of this partnership, Hirsch Hill wines will be made available in select Qantas flights and lounges domestically and internationally. They will also be made available for purchase through the Qantas Epicure Wine Club.

“This partnership with Qantas is a natural alignment and a hugely exciting opportunity to continue our growth and engage domestic and international travellers who are yet to experience our premium, Yarra Valley wine,” said Ben Hirsch, General Manager at Hirsch Wine Group.

“Qantas is undoubtedly one of Australia’s most iconic brands, instantly recognisable around the world as a pillar of quality, so of course, it’s fantastic affirmation for our business to reach this deal and work with an industry leader such as Qantas.”

Ben Hirsch is a second-generation Hirsch family operative of the family-owned wine business, following on from Founders Jack and Eddie Hirsch who purchased and planted the first grapevines on the Yarra Valley property in 1998.

Two years after starting on as General Manager in 2020, Ben made the decision to appoint Peter Mackey as Chief Winemaker. Most outfits growth has occurred over the last few years as the winery has expanded into Hirsch Wine Group, providing end-to-end processing facilities for other Yarra Valley winemakers. The partnership with Qantas follows on from growing demand for these contract winemaking services.

According to Peter Mackey, “Hirsch Hill not only showcases the best in Yarra Valley winemaking but also shares a piece of Australian heritage with their audience. Each bottle reflects the passion and craftsmanship that have defined the Hirsch family’s journey, offering a true taste of Australia’s vibrant wine culture.”

As part of the partnership, Hirsch Hill’s Toolangi Pinot Noir and Toolangi Chardonnay will be made available to Qantas customers.

Champagne Lallier partners with Qantas

Campari’s Champagne Lallier also recently landed an exclusive supply partnership with Qantas. As part of this deal, all Qantas first class lounges will stock Champagne Lallier products.

According to Campari Australia’s Marketing Director Paolo Maronini, “we feel that’s why Lallier is getting traction with the sommelier community, top tier restaurants, and through our partnership with Qantas. We are the exclusive champagne for the airline’s first-class lounges which is really putting Lallier on the map in this market.”

Champagne Lallier recently launched the latest iteration of its Réflexion range, the R.020, to the Australian market. The R.020 is the tenth Réflexion release and the first blended by Lallier’s new Cellar Master and General Manager Dominique Demarville.
