The Macallan celebrates 200th birthday with Sydney activations

To commemorate its 200th anniversary, The Macallan has announced that it will be conducting three activations in Sydney throughout the month of July.

These activations will collectively explore the theme of time travel, celebrating The Macallan’s extensive past while simultaneously reflecting on the brand’s current strong positioning. From July, Sydney’s InterContinental, Shangri-La, and Park Hyatt will each be putting together a bespoke flight of three cocktails. All three flights will feature a cocktail dedicated to the past, to the the present, and to the future, thus creating a journey through time.

Both the Park Hyatt and the InterContinental will be offering guests flights of Rob Roy cocktail iterations, one of the cocktails that arguably best champions the flavours of Scotch whisky, whilst the Shangri-la Blu Bar on 36 cocktail menu will feature three expressions of the whisky sour cocktail.

The Macallan’s activations at the Park Hyatt and Shangri-La’s Blu Bar on 36 will begin from 1 July and the activation at InterContinental will begin from 15 July. For more information, visit The Macallan website.

Loire Wines invites wine industry workers to Bastille Festival

Loire Wines has announced that it will be participating in Sydney’s Bastille Festival for the third consecutive year. The event, which will be held from 11-14 July, collates the best of French food, drink and culture – including several leading French wine regions – in a single venue. This includes a 1.4km Wine Walk tour that includes six different premium wines, one French cider from Normandy, and a Frenchies beer.

In total, 120 vendors and 100 artists will bring over 10 tons of cheese and 10,000 litres of wine into the Sydney festival, which will take place across The Rocks and Circular Quay.

The Loire Wines Bastille Festival bar will be located at Customs House, 31 Alfred Street. While the festival is free to enter, fees for drinks and food purchases apply.
